PROJECT #1 DESCRIPTION
Project #1
The
first project is identified within your unit or organization. It may be a
quality
improvement project. This project must be completed by the end of
the
fourth quarter of the first year of the OCPM Program.
Project
# 1 Selection
Criteria:
1. Addresses the identified problem and improves
the
efficiency/effectiveness of your organization or
relevant work unit
2. Directly relates to your organizational
mission
3. Has definable results
4. Can build on existing work, but it should be
a new project rather
than an on-going one
5. May be completed independently or through the
use of a workplace
team, which you will lead
6. Must be completed within the time frame
established by OCPM
7. Has the support of supervisor/agency director
as necessary
8. May use quality management
principles, tools, and techniques
9.
Demonstrates
mastery of specific principles, tools, techniques
related
to the OCPM Program curriculum
Project # 1 Examples:
• Improve a core business or strategic process
in your unit or agency
• Develop a strategic plan for your work unit
• Develop an implementation plan for your work
unit, aligned with
the agency’s strategic plan
• Develop a training course, including needs
analysis, participant and
instructor materials and conduct a pilot of the
training
